Pick 5 Box Method for Double Digit Games

Step 1:

In this strategy, we will be using the box method to determine what numbers we can play for the upcoming week. First, we will get the winning numbers from our state.  In this example, we will be using the using numbers of 08, 13, 26, 28, 37 that were drawn on March 4, 2018 in South Carolina. 

Step 2:

Now that we have our winning numbers, we will set up two boxes, each with 5 columns across and down.  The first box has a plus sign and the second box has a minus sign.

Step 3:

Fill in the winning numbers diagonally from the top left corner to the bottom right corner with the winning numbers in both boxes.

Step 4:

In the “+” box, we will add “1” to each number filling in each space, starting in the lower right corner with “37”. We will do the same with the “-“ box except we will be subtracting “1” from each number. For South Carolina, the number range for this game is 1-38. Be sure to check the number range for your game so you are playing numbers that are offered for that game.

Step 5:

Determine what your date sum is for this game.

Date Sum = Month + Day

                       3 + 4 = 7

Now that we have our date sum, we will highlight the date sum in each of our boxes.  In some cases, the date sum will only appear in one of the boxes.  If that happens, you will highlight the number in the same position as the date sum that appears in your other box.  In this case, we will highlight the “7” in our “+” box and “29” in our “-“ box.

Step 6:

Look for numbers that are vertical and horizontal in the same row or column of the date sum that we can play.

Numbers we can play:

19, 17, 23, 37, 28

13, 20, 21, 34, 22

17, 19, 13, 37, 28

13, 16, 15, 2, 14
